KidsFringe inspires creativity and play for children ages 12 and under* and their families. All shows and activities at KidsFringe are FREE! Located at Light Horse Park on the north end of the Festival Grounds, KidsFringe is open from 10:30AM – 5:30PM August 14 – 23, 2026.
*No adults without kids / no kids without adults. KidsFringe also welcomes individuals of all ages with a similar cognitive capacity with the accompaniment of a caregiver. Check out their website for more information.

Devised Theatre with Kate Sheridan
August 15, 2026
Get ready to move, imagine, and create with Kate Sheridan, theatre maker, educator, and Founder of Fairly Odd Academy! Through fun theatre games, participants will warm up their bodies, minds, and imaginations while building focus, spatial awareness, and teamwork. They'll then explore the exciting worlds of improvisation and mime before working together to devise an original short performance. If time allows, they'll even have the chance to share their creation with the group!
Perfect for young performers and curious creatives, this workshop celebrates creativity, collaboration, confidence, and the excitement of making theatre together.

Hoop Dance with Lakota Tootoosis

Lakota Tootoosis is Plains Cree from the Poundmaker Cree Nation. Lakota has been hoop dancing for over ten years and has performed in Taiwan and Alaska. Lakota travels extensively throughout North America, entertaining audiences at various venues. The hoop dance is a formation storytelling dance; you will see formations like the butterfly, eagle and the world, to name a few. You can use your imagination to see a variety of images transform throughout his performance!

Beyond Bollwood with Ashley Kumar

Beyond Bollywood™ is a South Asian Dance workshop created by Ashley Anjlien Kumar, a trained dance artist with 23 years of education and experience. In her workshop, Ashley takes participants on a journey to learn various styles of South Asian dance and dispel the myths surrounding what Bollywood is and how Bollywood Dance came to be. Participants will learn movements from Classical, Folk and Modern Indian Dance styles.

Ukrainian Dance with Stephanie Lilley

Folk Fun for Fringers of all sizes, shapes, genders, abilities, colours, and backgrounds! Led by Shumka alumnist, Stephanie Lilley, participants will explore both Ukrainian social dance and Ukrainian stage dance. Learn about Ukrainian culture as you polka and spin! Many options and accommodations offered to best serve the attending participants.

Interactive Songs with Carrie Day

Join singer-songwriter Carrie Day for a joyful, imaginative music workshop made just for kids! We’ll sing, move, laugh, and jam along to an original song, all about summer fun and the spirit of the Fringe. With catchy melodies, silly actions, and lots of chances to join in, this session is full of creativity and connection. No experience needed; just bring your enthusiasm and imagination!

Physical Storytelling with Morgan Yamada

Morgan will lead young performers in building a story together from the ground up, using their own ideas in these 30-minute workshops. Through movement, imagination, and a little slow-motion stage combat, they will bring their story to life as a group, discovering how big physical choices and teamwork can help tell a story.

Steel Pans with Danielle George

Get ready to groove in this high-energy, hands-on workshop, where kids will learn to play the Jumbie Pan—a smaller version of the steelpan from Trinidad & Tobago. Led by Danielle George, this fun-filled session introduces children to the rhythms, history, and joy of Caribbean music. Come make music, move your body, and feel the rhythm of the islands presented by All Things Pan!
